With its 480-watt gear-reduction motor and anti-static device, the Baratza Virtuoso’s high-end design proves its power and versatility. The Virtuoso features 40mm commercial-grade conical burrs that can be adjusted to 40 different settings, allowing you to grind for any coffee-making device from French presses to espresso machines. And to make grinding for any of these applications simple, the Virtuoso has 2 different ways to activate grinding: a timer switch on the right side of the grinder and a front-mounted push button.

The grounds container on the front of the Virtuoso can catch up to 5oz of coffee grounds a time, and with this grinder’s anti-static device, transferring the grounds to a coffee filter or French press has never been easier. If you choose, you can even remove the grounds container and place your espresso machine’s portafilter beneath the internal coffee-dispensing chute.

To complement the flexibility that this coffee grinder’s internal components allow, the Virtuoso is also built to fit into a wide variety of kitchen decors. The sides and back of the grinder are black, but its top and base are constructed of a satin finished nickel-plated metal for a sleek, understated look. 40 Grind Settings

For the ultimate in flexibility, the Baratza Virtuoso has 40 grind settings. This allows you to grind fine enough for an espresso machine and coarse enough for a drip coffee maker or French press.

Push Button or Timer Operation

The Virtuoso allows the user to activate the grinder with either a push button (located on the front of the machine) or a timer (side of machine) for grinding greater volumes, such as for drip coffee. This adds considerable convenience for many grinding requirements.

Conical Burr Grinding System

The conical burrs in the Virtuoso are arranged so that all the ground coffee drops directly into the ground coffee basket. This means that ground coffee does not accumulate into a receiving area, making it easier to clean, and ensuring that unused coffee is not left behind.

Grind Directly into your Portafilter

Simply remove the ground coffee basket and insert your espresso machine's portafilter handle. Then push button located on the front of the grinder (just above the grounds basket) to grind precise amounts of ground coffee. This is a big benefit because you eliminate the extra step of scooping coffee out of the basket and possibly leaving a trail of coffee grounds on your counter.

Powerful Gear Reduction Motor

A 480-watt gear reduction motor allows less heat to reach your coffee during grinding, which in turn helps to retain its flavor. Versus the AC motors found in most grinders at this price point, the Virtuoso’s DC motor produces more 4 times the power. And, at just 450 rpm, the burrs spin at less than 1/3 the speed, making the Virtuoso much quieter as well.

Antistatic System

Static electricity can cause grinds to stick to the internal components of a grinder, but the Virtuoso features an upgraded anti-static design that keeps coffee dust to a minimum.

8oz Capacity Bean Hopper

The whole bean hopper is capable of holding up to 1/2 pound of coffee, so you’ll never run out of beans in the middle of a grinding session.

High Capacity Ground Coffee Container

The ground coffee bin on the Virtuoso holds a full 5oz of grounds, allowing you to grind for a full pot of drip coffee with no problem. And its smooth fit and frosted plastic surface hides oily fingerprints and coffee dust for a clean look all the time.

Removable Grinding Burrs

The outer burr is designed for easy, “no tools required” removal. This is an important feature as routine removal of accumulated coffee oils is necessary to maintain grinder performance and consistency.
